USC Keck School of Medicine

With a tradition dating back to 1885, the Keck School of Medicine of USC is the oldest school of medicine in Southern California. Among the school’s notable achievements, it was the first medical school to use ‘standardized patients’ for medical training, it created the first academic Department of Emergency Education in the United States, and was the first to provide real-world experience in patient care in the first year of medical school.
